Welcome to Ocean Shores Baptist Church where our motto is "Preaching and Teaching the Word of God."  Our focus is on Christ and God's Word, and we welcome EVERYONE to join our Church Family as we share in the love of God!

 

As God's Holy Word teaches, salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ and not through works.  Works only prove (manifest/reveal) Whom we serve and follow.  Only Christ our Savior can forgive our sins, redeem us, save our souls, and give us new life.  God calls everyone to Him -- He is calling YOU right now -- will you receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior?

THE GOSPEL MESSAGE

No matter how 'good' we might think we are, we are all sinners in need of the Savior.  And that Savior is God Himself -- Jesus Christ!  The One who came to die on the Cross for everyone's sin, and He arose from the grave so that all might have life.  God's love for YOU and His grace is what saves us and gives us life in Him.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved."  ~ John 3:16-17

"In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him."  ~ I John 4:9

​

"He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life."  ~ I John 5:12

You might ask, "What about my good works?  I am a good person."  God created man and woman  -- Adam and Eve -- in a perfect state, but they disobeyed God and sinned, and therefore brought sin into the world.  So, we are all born sinners, and as we grow, we choose to sin.  Sin separates us from God, Who knows no sin, and sin leads to death.  However, our 'good' works can never save us.  It is only by the FREE GIFT from God that He offers to all people -- that free "gift" is salvation through Jesus Christ alone. 

"What then?  Are we better than they?  No, in no wise: for...are all under sin; as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: ... For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"  ~ Romans 3:9-10, 23

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."  ~ Romans 6:23

"So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God."  ~ Romans 8:8

​

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me."  ~ John 14:6

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."  ~ Ephesians 2:8-9

So, how can you receive the forgiveness of your sins and know for sure that when you die you will spend eternity in Heaven with Jesus?  Because of the love of God and His plan for YOU and for all mankind.  

"But God commendeth [proved] His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."  ~ Romans 5:8

"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other Name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved [that Name is Jesus Christ]."  ~ Acts 4:12

​

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God: that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."  ~ I John 5:13

So, YOU too can pray and ask Jesus to save you:

• Admit YOU are a sinner who cannot save yourself -- repent.

• Believe on Christ as your personal Savior who died for YOU.

• Call on the Lord Jesus Christ and ask Him to save YOU.

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."  ~ Romans 10:9

Now, with Christ, you are a new creation -- you have life in Him and eternal life to come in Heaven.  And you can start living a life unto God from this day forward.

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."  ~ II Corinthians 5:17

"But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life."  ~ Romans 3:22

WHAT DO I DO NOW?

• Rejoice!  For you are now part of the Family of God -- YOU are now God's child.

• Become a part of a Bible-believing and teaching Local Church, such as ours; and attend faithfully.

• Start Reading your Bible (the King James Bible (KJV)) Daily -- if you need help getting a Bible, please let us know.

• Pray Daily -- spend time with your Lord, Savior and King in prayer.

• Get Baptized -- make a public proclamation that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior by following God's command to be baptized by immersion.

• Spread the Good News -- share your testimony with others.  Some people may not want to hear it, but show them love as God loves you.

• Serve in your Local Church -- ask God to guide you on where He wants you to serve, and serve faithfully.

• Remain Faithful and Persevere -- Troubles will come for we live in a sinful world, but cling to God even more.  For our true victory is in Christ!

"But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; and that from a child thou hast known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works."  ~ II Timothy 3:14-17

OUR OTHER TENANTS of FAITH

Our beliefs are based purely upon the Word of God, in which we use the King James Bible (KJV).  We believe according to the Bible the following:

• The Authority of the Bible -- it is inerrant, infallible and God-breathed, and therefore it is the final authority for faith and life.

• The Trinity and the work of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

• God created everything -- the Universe, the Earth and everything in it, including man and woman -- and He did it in a literal 6-days.

• Christian Love and Service.

• God's call to Believers to walk in obedience to Him.

• There is a Heaven and a Hell -- God gives us the choice here on Earth to accept Jesus or to reject Him, and therefore we decide where we will spend eternity.

• Local Autonomy of the Church.

• Baptism by immersion following salvation.

• There are 2 Ordinances -- Baptism and the Lord's Supper.
