OUR MINISTRIES

"Preaching and Teaching the Word of God"

Here at Ocean Shores Baptist Church, we love sharing and being in God's Word, and growing in the Lord Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.  

We use the King James Bible (KJV) and our motto is "Preaching and Teaching the Word of God."  We believe in salvation by faith in Jesus Christ and not through works.  Works only prove (manifest/reveal) Whom we serve and follow.  Only Christ can forgive our sins, redeem us, and save our souls.

Our Church Family is a body of believers that truly love, care and serve one another.  We have hearts to pray and reach out to others.  We focus a lot on prayer because God calls us to be a people of prayer.  We have traditional hymns and songs for worship.  We joyfully get to meet corporately for Sunday Services at 10am (Sunday School -- Adult and Children classes), Morning Worship at 11am (with Children's Church and Nursery), and Evening Worship at 6pm.  We also have Wednesday Night Prayer and Bible Study at 7pm.  Our other ministries include the Ladies Dinner-Devotion-Fellowship Meeting (1st Thursdays of every month at 6pm), Men's Breakfast and Prayer (2nd Saturday of every month at 8am), and Faith Bible Institute (Tuesdays at 9:30am - Fall and Spring Semesters; sometimes we have Elective classes during the Summer).

Youth Ministries

We are dedicated to teaching God's Word to children.  With ministries such as Nursery, Children and Teen Sunday School classes, and Children's Church (during Sunday Morning Worship), there are options for all ages.  We have fun doing it, and love sharing Christ with them.

We also offer the yearly Vacation Bible School (VBS) in July or August; and the Christmas Program.

Ladies-4-Ladies

Ladies ministering to one another through God's Word.  

  • We have a Dinner-Devotion-Fellowship (with Christ as the center) Meeting on the 1st Thursday of every month at 6pm.

  • We host different events throughout the year, such as the Mother-Daughter Luncheon in May (all ladies welcome) and the Christmas Luncheon in December.

Men's Prayer & Breakfast

On the 2nd Saturday of every month at 8am, the men of the church gather for breakfast and fellowship.  The Lord their guide, the morning begins with food and fellowship, and ends with a Bible study and prayer.

Held in the Fellowship Hall.

Faith Bible Institute

An in-depth 3-year through the Bible study program.  This is a chronological Bible study that covers not just facts, but gets to the heart of God's Word and application in your life.  It is a great way to learn God's Word, to help keep your eyes focused on Jesus, and be able to "give an answer....[for] the hope that is in you" (I Peter 3:15).  Semesters run Fall and Spring with electives once in a while during the Summer.

These classes are taught by Pastor John Yates of Rowland Road Baptist Church in Monroe, LA.

on Facebook

Although we encourage everyone to meet corporately for Services at our Church (or at your Home Church), we do offer Live Streaming of our Sunday and Wednesday Services on our Church's Facebook Page for those who cannot be at church.  We do hope that this is a blessing to you and encourages your walk and growth with Christ!

Annual Services/Ministries

  • We never cancel a Service, so New Years Eve/Day and Christmas Eve/Day sometimes falls on a Sunday or Wednesday, so we have our normal service times.

  • Valentine's Sweetheart Banquet ~ Friday or Saturday around Valentine's Day.

  • Resurrection Sunday Potluck Breakfast at 9:45am.

  • All Ladies Mother-Daughter Luncheon on Saturday at 1pm (the day before Mother's Day).

  • July 4th Picnic at 6pm and Fireworks Watch at dark.

  • Vacation Bible School (VBS) for children 5-12yo ~ for 1 week held at the end of July/beginning of August ~ Mon-Fri, 6pm-8pm.

  • Thanksgiving Eve Special Service at 7pm.

  • Thanksgiving Day Dinner at 1:30pm.

  • Christmas Ladies Luncheon on Saturday at 1pm (the day before the Sunday Christmas Program).

  • Christmas Program on Sunday at 6pm (the Sunday before Christmas Eve).

  • Christmas Eve Service at 6pm.

  • Communion Services at 6pm held quarterly on the 1st (normally) Sunday of each new quarter (January, April, July, October).

  • Administration Meetings at 6pm held quarterly on the 2nd (normally) Sunday of each new quarter (January, April, July, October).

  • Church Work Day held bi-annually (Spring and Fall) on a Saturday after the Men's Breakfast.

  • Birthday/Anniversary Fellowships held on the last Sunday of every month after the Sunday Evening Service.

  • Men's Breakfast & Fellowship/Prayer held on the 2nd Saturday of every month at 8am.

  • Ladies Devotion-Prayer-Dinner on the 1st Thursday of every month at 6pm.

  • Faith Bible Institute (FBI) held on Tuesdays at 9:30am-12:30pm during the Spring and Fall Semesters.
